Del Shannon (Charles Westover) was a falsetto rocker from Michigan who became famous for Runaway (1961), a sad song and pessimistic in which the solo umorisitico to "musitron" organist Max Crook ante-litteram imitated the sound of the synthesizer (Crook had personally built his "musitron) while a galloping pace accompanied by an equally unusual narrative and a guitar petulant resurrect the ghost of Chuck Berry. In reality it was a rival of Roy Orbison who later self-pity is `in` Cry Myself To Sleep, Crying, She Cried, etc.. Little Miss Maid was perhaps his most intense melodrama. Keep Searchin '(1964) and Stranger In Town (1965), his nightmare more massive, furono i suoi ultimi brani degni di nota, ma di scarso appeal commerciale.

Shannon si suicidò nel febbraio 1990.
